Hunger Action LA sends condolences to the family of Heather Heyer, who stood up to white supremacist terrorism this past weekend in Charlottesville. She exemplifies the leadership that is lacking in our current presidential administration. It’s a reminder that all of us must stand up against “evil”, that there is no moral equivalency in this struggle, and we need each other’s love and support to prevail.
The poor are constantly under attack, both with violence in the community and from law enforcement and from policies created by those who want to aggrandize the already-wealthy and try to ignore poverty out of existence. Join us in a training on how to protect the far-from-perfect safety net from the certain attacks of upcoming months and years.
Please note, I sent this out last week with the incorrect weekday. It will be Sept. 13, which is a Wednesday.
