The LA Food Policy Council looks forward to seeing you at our April Network meeting to explore collective impact in action, with a spotlight on our nationally regarded Good Food Purchasing Policy. The policy, adopted in 2012 by the City of Los Angeles and LA Unified School District, provides clear standards that empower institutions to procure high quality, sustainable, fair and humanely sourced foods, while providing healthier meals to school children, seniors and public employees.
The Good Food Purchasing Policy was developed by the LA Food Policy Council's Good Food Procurement Working Group, a cross-sector collaborative space with advocates and experts from across the food system. Learn how a shared vision for change evolved into the most comprehensive and metric-based food procurement policy in the country. Take home valuable strategies and lessons from local leaders on how to build a successful policy campaign using collective impact to advance food system change in Los Angeles and beyond.
